Indie Rock outfit Shibuya Crossings are set to release their brand new single ‘Take It Out On Me’ on October 15th via Typically Magic Records. The first single to be taken from their highly anticipated second album ‘DOYA (Depend On Your Alter-ego)’ showcases a progressive musical and lyrical departure from their 2007 debut ‘Songs For Lovesick Teenagers’.

Although nearly 3 years since their last release, the band haven’t lost their knack for catchy hooks and melodies. The three and a half minute roller coaster that is ‘Take It Out On Me’ delivers a tasty concoction of electric disco beats, funky bass lines and a thumping guitar driven chorus.

‘It’s a song about paranoia, looking over your shoulder all the time’ says singer, guitarist Declan Harrington, ‘in the case of this song I think that paranoia could be justified, or maybe it’s all in the subject’s head - you could read it both ways I guess’.

In contrast to the dark lyrical theme, the music itself comes across as upbeat in mood. The verses are disco-esque, bringing Blondie and Franz Ferdinand to mind, while the chorus with its crunching guitars throws you slap bang into mosh pit territory, reminiscent of Super Furry Animals and Weezer. The closing chorus of the song is even bigger again, helped by a frantic honky tonk piano and addictive sing-along vocals.
