North Street Records
Label History
North Street Records was born on the streets of New York City in early 2004. Since then, founder Chris Howerton and his two long time friends, Josh Builder and Sky Ganer, have been working hard to release and promote great music. New York is a big city with a lot of competition, but teaming up with innovative and creative bands, like TAB the Band, Tiny Animals (of which label-founder, Chris Howerton, is a member), Dirty on Purpose, and Pink and Noseworthy, has enabled the label to reach goals with ease and efficiency. From accomplishments such as Tiny Animals' recent performance at Bonnaroo and multiple placements in various MTV shows, to TAB the Band's frequent touring with large acts like Stone Temple Pilots and Slash, NSR has been able to compete with much larger independent labels. In addition to a grassroots approach to promotion and marketing, NSR attributes much of its success to combining forces with like-minded and highly motivated individuals. The label looks forward to contributing even more to the already booming independent music scene in the years to come.
